Gung Fu Tea Ceremony

An ancient practice for modern presence

Gong Fu Tea with Eric

Gung Fu Tea is the art of brewing tea with mindfulness, precision, and heart.

With only two ingredients — leaf and water — the depth you can explore is profound. Unlike steeping tea all at once, this practice unfolds in a series of short infusions, revealing an arc in flavor, energy, and spirit.

For me, Gung Fu Tea is both a meditative practice and a way to work with the body’s energetic system. High-quality Chinese teas can be grounding, uplifting, or deeply calming — and can be sequenced to create a gentle energetic journey.

When we sit for tea, we’re having a conversation — not just with each other, but with the leaf itself. Each pour, each steeping, reveals a little more. The people present shape the tea as much as the water and the pot. It’s an invitation to slow down, connect, and simply be.

"Eric takes you on a journey that will change the way you think about tea. He was a wonderful guide, providing lots of information and letting you explore and learn all about the special properties of tea. Highly recommend."

Tea Ceremonies in Asheville

Tea Ceremony Asheville

I offer Gung Fu Tea sessions in Asheville for individuals or small groups of up to six. For one person, the session is often just under an hour; with more guests, the experience may run a bit longer. The pacing is guided entirely by the tea itself. We follow where the tea takes us, allowing depth to unfold naturally, and closing with a gradual, gentle landing rather than an abrupt end.

What to Expect

A warm, welcoming space (usually my home in the historic Montford neighborhood)

A tea selected intuitively to match the energy of those present and the direction we wish to journey together

A progression of short infusions, each revealing new layers of the tea’s flavor, aroma, and energy

Moments of silence, connection, and reflection without pressure to fill the air

Space to show up exactly as you are

Ceremony Pricing

The ceremony is $21 per person.

When booking, please use the quantity dropdown on the payment page to select the number of people in your party. This ensures I can prepare enough tea, seating, and space for everyone to feel welcomed and comfortable.
