Twenty years in the making. Recorded live in Vienna.
Hero’s Victory is an original orchestral work inspired by the timeless arc of the hero’s journey: from struggle and doubt, through descent and resilience, to the quiet rediscovery of inner strength.
What began as a simple synth sketch in 2001 eventually became a live orchestral recording with a 60-piece orchestra at Synchron Stage Vienna, more than two decades later.
This page invites you to explore not only the finished music, but the creative journey that brought it to life.
This album documents a creative journey spanning more than two decades. The music unfolds in the order it was written—Gladiator, Hero’s Journey, and Hero’s Victory—revealing how a single musical idea gradually evolved from a simple synth piece into a fully realized orchestral recording.
Between the pieces are commentary tracks offering reflections on the creative process, sharing the collaborations, challenges, discoveries, and moments of growth that shaped the music along the way.
In a moment in time when music can be created instantly with the help of AI, this album celebrates a different approach: slow creation, collaboration, learning through doing, and letting time shape the work.
More than a collection of recordings, it’s a celebration of the human process behind the music: listening, revising, collaborating, and allowing time to shape the work.
Recorded live at the legendary Synchron Stage Vienna during the Hollywood Music Workshop, this performance features a 60-piece orchestra I had the privilege of conducting under the mentorship of veteran film composer and orchestrator Conrad Pope.
The award-winning music video pairs the final mastered recording with footage from the session, offering a glimpse into the energy and collaboration of bringing the piece to life.
Explore the complete creative journey—from the earliest sketches and orchestration process to the recording session, mixing, mastering, and final music video. You’ll also find the complete orchestral score available to download for anyone interested in studying the music in greater depth.
This project would not have been possible without the generous creativity, care, and support of everyone involved. I’m deeply grateful for each contribution that brought Hero’s Victory to life.
